ANTI-AGING, SUN PROTECTION, AND YOUNGER LOOKING SKIN!
The sun is probably the number 1 cause of aging…. and also the major cause of hyperpigmentation. There are other factors of course (stress, smoking, glycation, pollution, genetics), but UV rays go through computer screens – and how many of us are sitting in front of a computer all day long! UV rays also go through windows, clouds, and some flourescent lighting!
Now, how much sun protection do you need? Well, SPF15 is fine for everyday use. However, it needs to be re-applied about every 4 hours for continued protection. Not so easy to do if you’re using a cream or lotion SPF. What I do is re-apply my Pure Silk Loose Minerals SPF20 throughout the day over whichever one of I minerals I feel like wearing that day.
If you work on a computer for hours on end, you can also sport a baseball cap – yes, just picture me sitting in front of my computer looking like a baseball player! LOL The same goes for anyone who works outside all day.
Another thing I did was purchase a UV screen for my monitor. This is very good advice!
Now, we really need Vitamin D and the best way to get it into our bodies is by sitting in the sun. But that doesn’t mean that your face needs to be exposed to it. Wear shorts and a sleeveless shirt and get 10 minutes of sun exposure a couple of times each day. During colder periods, be sure to take a Vitamin D supplement.
