DO YOU REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP BEFORE BED?
Written By Samantha Dym, Contributing Author.
Do you remove your makeup before you go to sleep? No matter what makeup you use, they all have one thing in common… they must come off before you go to bed.
Below are the top five reasons why you should remove your makeup in order to maintain healthy skin:
- Dirty Pillow Case– Makeup stains on your pillow from mascara, foundation, lipstick, and blush become a platform for bacteria growth. The bacteria will infect your skin and cause acne. For clear and healthy skin… we recommend that you remove all makeup before bed time and change your pillowcase at least once per week.
- Your Skin Needs to Breathe– Sleeping with your makeup on actually denies your skin the oxygen it craves… preventing it from self-repairing, causing a dull and dry looking skin.
- Sleep Yourself Young– While you sleep, your skin is regenerating. Removing your makeup, followed by a great skin care routine will ensure you wake up with a glowing, rejuvenated complexion.
- Get Rid of Free Radicals– Removing your makeup before sleep means that you are washing away all that pollution and free radicals that cling to your skin throughout the day… which can be harmful to your its health. Free radicals can make your skin age faster and cause cellular damage.
- Caring For your Eyes– The area around your eyes consists of a very delicate skin that can easily get dehydrated. Dry skin is more prone to wrinkles, and can lead to premature aging. That’s why it’s best to take the eye makeup off before you close your eyes and drift off to sleep.
We know you’re busy and at the end of the day all you want to do is relax and get some good rest. We recommend that you try to spend a few minutes to remove your makeup and deep cleanse your skin.
