YOUR SKIN AND THE GYM – KEEP IT CLEAR!

With spring on the way, many of us are hitting the gym to get our bodies ready for the beach or maybe a tropical getaway. As much as we love the extra energy from our workouts, our skin might rebel from the added irritants. Here are some tips to keep your skin clear and glowing.

Take it off!
Wash your face and make sure you remove any makeup or products. This is the most common mistake that can lead to big problems. As you sweat, these products can get rubbed into your hairline, chin, chest and back causing a breakout. The only exception is if you’re workout is outside, make sure you wear at least a 30 SPF anti-aging sunscreen.
Tie it back!
Exercising with your hair down not only gets in the way, but it can distribute oil and other debris from products in your hair. If possible, try to avoid using a lot of product in your hair, as this can turn sticky and collect bacteria and dirt in unwanted areas.
Pick The Best Post-Workout Products
Since there are many skin types, make sure you get the products that are best suited for you; and don’t forget your sun protection. You will also want a great body lotion too. Make sure you pack these skin care products in your gym bag so that your face and body can show off all that hard work on the beach this year!
